NFC Olive Oil Bottles

These Bottles of Olive Oil Feature Tags That Connect with the iOlive App

Buonamici, La Ranocchiaia, SPO and Il Cavallino are some of the Italian olive oil brands that are now integrating NFC tags into bottles of olive oil. These NFC bottles enable authentication and increase engagement, all the while offering relevant product information and content to a consumer.

The smart packaging system is connected to iOlive's mobile app, which stores data on more than 150 extra virgin olive oil products from Tuscany.

One of the most important reasons that this NFC-enabled packaging is being rolled out is that Italy's olive oil industry is rampant with fraud, in which olive oil products are often diluted with other ingredients. These smart labels help to give consumers a sense of trust, as they are easily able to be educated about new bottles of olive oil.
