The BMW 5 Series GT is a prototype vehicle that is capable of converting hydrogen gas into electric power. This vehicle can drive for over 500 km before it needs to be topped up, and unlike regular plug-in electric vehicles can be refueled in just a matter of minutes.
This vehicle is powered by a 180 kW electric motor equipped with a high voltage battery. The car's hydrogen is stored in a tank built into a tunnel between the front and rear axles, and features a patented design for storing gaseous hydrogen at low temperatures and at 350 bar pressure.
