Hyrdogen-Powered Off-Road Racers

Glickenhaus Unveils Its New Baja-Ready Hydrogen-Fueled Vehicle

Specialty American auto manufacturer Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) has unveiled its newest vehicle, a hydrogen fuel cell-powered off-roader designed to race the Baja 1000.

The innovative new truck comes equipped with swappable cryogenic hydrogen tanks, meaning the car can easily be refueled while on the go. Of course, this feature is geared towards the Baja 1000, the longest continuous off-road race in the world. In addition, the new hydrogen fuel cell boot delivers a range of 600-1000 miles while offering a much bigger load capacity, especially in comparison to battery-powered electric trucks.

"The proponents of batteries often forget to mention that batteries today store less than 0.5 megajoules of energy per kilogram of battery. by comparison, gasoline has approximately 46 MJ/kg, and hydrogen has around 120 MJ/kg," explained Glickenhaus, referencing the revolutionary power of hydrogen.
