The new Blends x Vans Pony Hair high top is a subtle but appealing redesign of the classic Vans jazz stripe model. In 2013, Vans collaborated with the SoCal boutique sneaker shop Blends to create several versions of the iconic Sk8-Hi shoe. Since the collaboration. Blends and Vans have maintained a solid relationship and in 2017 the pair came together to revive the Bone Jazz Stripe. This is a big step for Vans as the California-based company rarely allows other designers to modify or change its original Jazz Stripe motif.

The Pony Hair is the outcome of this relationship and features the iconic Bone Jazz Strip replacing the conventional Jazz Stripe. This new design takes inspiration from the duo's previous collaboration, released in March of 2017, with a few new additions. The new sneaker is featured on the Sk8-Hi Reissue Zip LX, a change-up from the previous collaboration done on the Style 36. The new sneaker features a black cowhide leather upper construction, and of course has the Bone Jazz Stripe which is covered in Pony Hair. A visual presentation has been released for the shoe titled 'SHEILA' and shows off the rugged and weathered aesthetic behind this Blends x Vans collaboration.
