According to Black Cat Friday -- a charity event that specifically focuses on finding black felines forever homes -- black cats are the least likely to be adopted, spend 40 percent more time in shelters than other cats, and have the highest euthanasia rates.
In an effort to help these furry friends find loving families, the Black Cat Friday campaign was, ironically and intentionally, launched on Black Friday. The charity partnered with Amazon Smiles, a philanthropic division of the mega e-commerce site that will donate a portion of all sales to the foundation. The tagline of the marketing initiatives is 'Buy Stuff. Save Cats." and features adorable images of black felines.
While the Black Cat Friday campaign is only running during the infamous shopping day, you can donate to the charity at any time via www.brooklynanimalaction.org/little-panthers/.
