BFGF is described by its founder Lilian Martinez as an "art brand" creating "lush and compelling" designs that speak to the nature of dreams in a culture so reliant on symbols, whether natural or pop cultural. Designing everything from whimsical tees to over-the-top blankets, Martinez cross-pollinates her pieces by intertwining images of Lisa Simpson with dreamy interpretations of natural surroundings.
One piece that stands out in particular is BFGF's Worldwide Aura Blanket, a digitally woven piece that features images of a Nike Swoosh, a coconut, a palm leaf, a basketball and several bananas, among other art references.
Each piece from BFGF is made to order and is comprised of 100% cotton. BFGF recently told Cool Hunting of her intent to move into homeware designs, as well as plans to showcase her works in several galleries in 2016.
