Members of the "27 Club" are popular muses among artists, but I’ve yet to encounter anyone depict the likes of Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix in a manner quite like Ben Brown. Each portrait is essentially divided up into two portions: one which features a psychedelically colored photograph of a fallen star, and another which is a wickedly drawn skeleton that makes up the missing portions of the celebrity's face. The results are stunning to say the least as viewers are treated to visuals as colorful as each musician and actor’s careers.
Ben Brown is selling limited edition giclee prints of these images for $175 apiece, which is a small price to pay to own a picture drenched in pop culture history.
