Dinosaurs figures rarely receive the same attention to detail seen in action figures and collectibles, but the Beasts of the Mesozoic is looking to change this. The line is designed by Star Wars and NECA toy sculptor David Silva, who was inspired to create this line of collectibles after wondering why there was a void in collector quality dinosaurs. Silva used his extensive monster-making background when designing the Beasts of the Mesozoic and funded the project through a Kickstarter campaign.
The finished figures all feature an impeccable level of quality with each piece sporting realistic color schemes, design elements and extremities. Each dinosaur in the Beasts of the Mesozoic range is 1/6 scale and is meant to be posed next to 12-inch humanoid figures. All of the current dinosaurs in the collection are riffs on the iconic velociraptor, but each figure is based on archeological discoveries and scientific renderings.
