This year's Pride Month is celebrated in a number of ways and this includes the latest Be True 2019 collection, which is an ongoing series by Nike. The latest capsule partners with Gilbert Baker, who is a political activist. The capsule highlights some of Nike's most iconic silhouettes once again.
The designs are rooted in its color palette, which celebrates the LGTBQ+ community. The eight color rainbow flat debuted in 1978, serving as a symbol that represents positivity, unity, and gay joy. The footwear selection includes the Air Max 720, Zoom Pegasus Turbo, Air Max 90, and the Air Tailwind 79 -- all of which honor the classic Baker handmade flag. The designers give each pair of sneakers a special handcrafted touch with an embroidered detail in eight layers in the form of the Swoosh.
