The BBC Voice Assistant is Set to Launch in 2020

The BBC voice assistant -- tentatively titled 'Beeb' -- is set to launch in 2020 as a new service from the broadcaster that will enable users to take more intuitive control over the devices around them.

The voice assistant will be made with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in mind and is intended to be integrated into devices like smart TVs, speakers and beyond. The solution is set to take on other popular voice assistant technologies like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri, amongst many others.

The BBC voice assistant is presently under development with staff being invited to record their voice in order to help train the system to understand different accents.
