The Battersea Power Station is receiving a much-needed upgrade to make the most of the street area, and ensure the building isn't seen as an ugly obstruction. Design firms Frank Gehry and Norman Foster are the ones responsible for this re-design.
The proposed space will consist of new resident buildings, a hotel and 'The Electric Boulevard,' a street that will connect the underground to the area, so as more people have access to visit the area. The entire design looks extremely modern, and should help to complement the Battersea Power Station. As of now, the station is the focal point of the area, but with a few modern structures put in place around it, the building could be viewed as a needed historic section of a newly modernized area of the city.
