It's great to play music alone, but virtually every professional musician needs a band in order to book gigs and get in front of an audience, and 'Bandr' is a new social platform designed explicitly for fellow musicians to meet up with one another form a band. Bandr uses a swipe-based mechanic similar to apps like Tinder, though rather connecting people romantically, it lets them make beautiful music together.
It's tough to meet all the players in a band based on one's social circle alone. A singer and a guitarist might know one another, but a capable keyboardist or drummer could be far more elusive. Instead of posting on classified sites and hoping for the best, Bandr centralizes the search, and its social component gives users confidence in the people that they meet through the app.
