While the potassium-rich, fan-favorite fruit of the monkey is tasty as it is, the Bananaphone Synthesizer it inspired is not only delicious, but also capable of making some sweet music.
Created by Jeff Ledger, the device is both edible and functional, and features several bananas strapped up to computer-enabled speakers and soundboards to allow the fruit to produce tunes with the touch of a button. Using similar technology as the MaKey MaKey released a little while back, a few wires from a local technology store, a resistor and a small speaker was all it took to fashion the robotic-sounding instrument.
Any up-and-coming Skrillex wannabes or house music enthusiasts will be flocking in bunches to try out this low-cost synth. It will also be a fan favorite of any DIYers who are also foodie fanatics that will want to get their hands on this device lickity-split.
