Although this much-beloved confection has been an under-the-table breakfast treat for quite some time, the always delicious doughnut has finally been legitimized as a start of the day edible thanks to these Banana Walnut Breakfast Doughnuts. They are also baked as opposed to deep-fried and last time I checked, bananas and cream cheese were common side kicks at the breakfast table. The doughnuts themselves are a variation on banana bread dipped in a delicious cream cheese glaze and topped with a sprinkling of nutrient-rich walnuts. Okay, so it may not be the healthiest choice on the planet, but let’s face it, if you get into your head to eat a doughnut first thing in the morning, come hell or high water you’re going to eat that doughnut, so you might as well choose the healthier version.
