Like hot tea? How about flaming hot? Designer Wonsik Chae of South Korea created the "lighting bag" which looks much like a tea bag.
Drop the tea bag into a cup of chemicals, and a glow similar to fluorescent lights brighten up the room. The perfect nightlight for a toddlers room? No, but truly an innovative light source.
Implications - Though some inventions, like electricity, are absolute staples in the function of daily life, scientists and creative minds continue to seek alternatives. These alternatives often boast a novelty that consumers are drawn to; however, there are more serious undertones of emergency preparation in these inventions, which have the potential to save lives if need be.
