The design of the Woodman Axe Coffee Table draws inspiration from the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale, bringing the same darkness that the Brothers Grimm telling brings to the tale. The table consists of a plain wooden surface that is propped up by four axe blades, making it look as though the weapons have been hacked into the tabletop in order to help it stand upright.
The unique table design comes in a variety of finishes, including a solid walnut option, as well as one with a light oak and ash finish, all sourced from Forest Stewardship Council-controlled forests. The hickory axes are polished in order to make them shine and stand out, so it's no surprise that this table design won the Peta Levi Memorial Bursary.
