Researched revealed that 57% of aviation accidents occur due to human error, with a vast majority of those accidents happening because of poor planning or recording skills. A new startup has been formed in response to this research, and is leveraging emerging technology to reduce the number of air accidents by creating flight log records on Blockchain.
The mobile app, created by Aeron will use Blockchain technology to digitally store logbook data. In a press release, Aeron explained that “Typically, it proves next to impossible to recover the individual pilot’s logbook, should it be lost or destroyed, especially in a case where a pilot does not have an association with a single flight school or location." Blockchain technology will be leveraged to create a digital alternative to the logbook, effectively benefiting the pilot and the passengers.
