Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

The 'Daedalus' Chandelier by Audi Concept Group

— August 5, 2008 — Art & Design
This fantastic light fixture hangs in the lobby of the Audi Design Center in California. It was designed for Ivalo Lighting by a group of automotive designers formed by Audi as a “think tank” for the future of automotive design.

The dynamic fixture, made of frosted glass and aluminum, is called the Daedalus and was created around a helix shape that changes form as you view it from different angles. The 5' long chandelier is illuminated by 8 low-voltage halogen lamps and is suspended with aircraft cables.

From one angle, the shape reminds me of an exaggerated female skeleton; like a dress made of bones.
