Atari is the latest company to enter the cryptocurrency market with the release of its Atari Token. This new cryptocurrency will be developed by Atari in partnership with IT company Infinity Networks. Following the announcement of this partnership, Atari stock rose by 60%, which substantiates the company's commitment to strengthening itself through venturing into blockchain technology. Similar stock rises have been seen in companies like KFC, Kodak and Hooters after launching platforms related to cryptocurrency.
Consumers using the Atari Token will have the ability to purchase any form of digital entertainment from the brand, such as movies or video games.
Atari will also be launching another currency known as the Pong Token, which will be used on a new casino platform the company is launching later in 2018. With the Pong Token, players will able to use cryptocurrency in online gambling games hosted on dedicated crypto-casinos.
