Drawing inspiration from decades passed while still remaining true to modern approaches to creativity, artist Jack Hughes captures the essence of various decades with color and evolutionary tact. Hughes' style is strikingly similar to that of Mad Men's title sequence, where colors are used to create a silhouette with the eye of the beholder filling in the remaining details.
Hughes starts the process by sketching and curating his ideas before taking the work to the computer where the concepts are brought to fruition using Adobe Photoshop. An interesting play on the old and new, the work of Hughes is able to span decades while never looking too retro or too modern, which leads to a rather timeless essence that is evident throughout each of his coordinated illustrations.
