Ari Fararooy is a photographer based in Los Angeles, California, how has decided to turn the selfie on its head. He has created a series of surreal self-portraits using a tripod, mirrors, a self timer and ‘a few digital manipulations.' Captured in the middle of the Joshua Tree National Park, the images are even more captivating.
Inspired after attending Burning Man in 2014, Ari Fararooy says, "The goal was to experiment with reflections and explore the various ways I could creatively photograph myself." Many of the images are quite trippy, alluding to a discipline of art that encourages people to look at themselves from a different perspective. Whether that is through similar self-portraits or immersing oneself in new experiences, there are many ways to experiment.
