Anna Di Mezza Paints Surreal Scenes Along with 1920s Photos

Anna Di Mezza, an artist who's based in Sydney, Australia, has a talent for creating art with an aesthetic that transcends different time periods -- intermingling elements of the future with the past.

In order to do so, she creates bizarre backdrops by adding a myriad of colors to mountain scenes, using enormous ice bergs and implementing space as a setting. Along with this, Anna Di Mezza includes photos taken from the 1920s and beyond in her paintings -- using a team of female switchboard operators to plug equipment into a never-ending ocean in one example.

In another, a group of blue smiling women in vintage swimsuits towers above rocky structures in space -- making for a unique combination of motifs.
