These Animal Bookends Have More than Literary Meat Between Them

There are billions of different concepts that can be effectively turned into shelf organizers, be they simple geometric objects or elaborate sculptures. These Animal Bookends lean to the latter, embodying unexpectedly representational shapes with a bit of dark humor.

Sold through Matomeno, the pair of figurines depicts a cow and a pig rendered in black with a bit of etched detail. Each can be pulled apart to reveal a clean severance through their middles, producing an exposed flat circle on either side.

But instead of being coated in black or left unpainted, both Animal Bookends have been decorated with the red and brown coloring and visual textures of sirloin or sausage. Only when they're not in use can one discern this coarse but palatable joke.
