In the aftermath of the US presidential election, a Facebook Messenger bot was launched to help people with their American visa application. The visa lawyer bot aims to "help immigrants make America great again."
Visabot helps users complete kind of American visa application that skilled tech workers and entrepreneurs would seek. Founder Artem Goldman, who previously established a Russian legal consultation marketplace, notes the program is not a political statement and cannot protect people in the United States illegally, but is designed to reduce legal fees for people applying for O-1 visas, B-2 visa extensions and soon H-1 B visas too.
Bots have been used increasingly in the legal arena, and have also played a part in the 2016 election with political AI chat bots.
