Business-Oriented AI Chatbots

Linklaters Launches an Upgraded Generative AI Chatbot Called Laila

Linklaters, a global law firm, has unveiled an enhanced version of its GenAI chatbot, named Laila. Originally introduced in March 2023, Laila is a product of Linklaters' in-house software development team, leveraging Microsoft's Azure OpenAI infrastructure.

Laila serves as a platform for individuals to gain hands-on experience with the technology and responsibly explore its various use cases within the legal context. All interactions with Laila, including prompts and responses, remain securely within Linklaters' controlled environment.

"When GenAI is utilised effectively, it can boost efficiency and provide more time for strategic thinking. It’s been great to see the engagement we’ve had – from trainee through to partners using the Chatbot and other proof of concepts to test where GenAI could add the most value to their work," said Thomas Quoroll, Partner, GenAI Experimentation Working Group.
