Robotic Stress-Relieving Cats

The Amagami Ham Ham Has Interactive Stress-Reducing Capabilities

The Amagami Ham Ham is a robotic cat designed to help people reduce stress levels. While the toy cat boasts robotic functions, it has a plush and furry design for additional comfort. A Japanese robotics company designed the quirky robot toy to offer comfort to those in need.

Yuki Engineering's toy is named after the Japanese words that refer to 'soft biting. The toy activates when the user puts its finger inside the plush mouth. Once the sensor detects the obstruction, the toy begins nibbling on the user's finger. This is shown to relieve people of stress. Play biting is a universal gesture known among human babies and other animals. Its psychological effect provides comfort for both people involved. The Amagami Ham Ham mimics this effect.
