Alternative Landscapes is a surreal and beautiful photo series, put together by Montreal, Canada-based photographer Benoit Paille, that puts forth the suggestion that photography doesn't merely represent reality but aims to create and manipulate it. The photos in this unique series depict illuminate man-made cubes shining brightly in natural and distinctly untouched and unspoiled outdoor settings, created a fascinating visual contrast.
Paille suspended square light fixtures and the center of his frame using string to avoid disturbing the natural physical landscape, giving the appearance that the light is floating in mid-air. He then proceeded to use very long exposures to capture the surrounding area and illuminating it with a beautiful and strange glow.
