Land-and-Sea Cruise Vacations

Royal Caribbean Extends Alaska Sailings with Inland Adventures

Royal Caribbean is expanding its Alaska vacation format for summer 2028 by pairing seven-night cruises with optional multi-night land experiences. Sailing aboard Anthem, Ovation, Serenade, and Voyager of the Seas, travelers can visit destinations including Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, and Icy Strait Point. Select Anthem itineraries can be extended with two- to six-night Cruisetours, giving guests opportunities to explore inland destinations such as Denali National Park before or after their cruise.

The combined format allows Royal Caribbean to capture more of a traveler’s vacation by connecting accommodations, transportation, cruising, and inland excursions within a broader itinerary. It can also encourage longer stays and additional spending beyond the core sailing. Offering departures from Seattle, Seward, and Vancouver expands accessibility, while the integrated Seward cruise terminal and neighboring Alaska Railroad station support smoother transitions between sea and land travel.
