Munich-based airline Lufthansa created this conceptual plan for an indoor airport market. The market will provide travelers with a unique and experiential dining and shopping opportunity.
This new market-styled airport design will incorporate vast skylights that allow ample natural light to flood the terminal. The market will be heavily influenced by the location as it will carry "a wide selection of iconic German and international brands, popular Bavarian retailers and local bars and restaurants." This experiential retail and dining station will welcome travelers through an immersive display of local and imported products. The entire market will consist of 16 retail stores, seven food and beverage locations and three Duty Free shops.
The plans have outlined the airline's goal to open the airport market by April of 2016. The retail and dining center will ultimately provide flyers with a place to comfortably relax before departing on a long flight.
