Amazon announced that it recently purchased 11 Boeing 767-300 planes, which will bring its total air fleet to 85 planes which will distribute packages in the United States and other markets.
Amazon initially launched its air fleet in 2016 with a total of 11 planes and the company expects to have its 85 planes operational by the end of 2022. Seven of the 11 new aircraft were used planes that were purchased from Delta, and another four were purchased from WestJet. The four WestJet planes will be operational by the end of this year, while the Delta planes will not be flying for Amazon until 2022.
