Autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles can soon do more than drive a vehicle, as Affectiva, a company developing emotion-tracking tools, has launched its new AI service which intends to track the emotions of the driver.
The technology will have the ability to switch a vehicle from a semi-autonomous driving mode, to an autonomous one should it recognize the driver is either stressed out or under the influence. In addition to enhancing the safety of all in the car, the technology hopes to improve the overall driving experience for everyone, including passengers.
This tech-infused vehicle accessory speaks to the growth of autonomous vehicles, and serves as a response to the shifts in road-based vehicle safety.
