The Giro Aerohead II is Designed around Optimizing Speed

The Aerohead II from Giro is a futuristic helmet is designed to optimize the aerodynamics of your head while riding, thus reducing drag and boosting speed. The Aerohead II is the result of a collaboration between Giro and Team Visma/Lease a Bike, a Dutch bicycle racing team that plans to use the helmet in the upcoming season.

The Aerohead II features a long wedge-shaped nose cone and a tapered tail section that flares out to sit flush with the rider’s shoulders. The helmet also has a transparent visor that wraps around the entire underside of the nose, providing a wide field of vision. The helmet is custom-made for each rider, and complies with the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) regulations. The Aerohead II is not yet available for purchase, but it is expected to cost around $500 USD when it hits the market. Interested consumers can sign up to receive updates on Giro website.
