The Adela Rex seating collection is the first collaboration between Andreu World and Philippe Starck. The range is part of the 100%pure wood project that aims to bring together seating and tables made at least in part with slow-growing wood. Using wood harvested from reforested areas on the company's land aims to remind consumers that we can use nature sustainably.
Oak and walnut plywood are used to create the Adela Rex collection. The material's limits are tested by using molds that enable 3D geometries. Armchairs and chairs featured in the collection are designed with circularity in mind, reducing carbon footprints where possible. Moreover, the chairs are designed with easy-to-separate components for recycling at the end of their lifespan. The chairs are structurally simple and ergonomic in design.
