This Sacai Runway Show Highlights Colorful Athletic Apparel

The Sacai runway show for Spring 2014 features a range of elegantly athletic pieces that take traditional gym attire to a glamorous new level. For his latest range, the label's head designer Chitose Abe looked to sport for his inspiration and recreated chic versions of the traditional basketball and football uniform with his latest showing.

He did this with an array of loose fitting silhouettes and netted details that were inspired by the perforated and breathable fabrics worn by sports teams. While the traditional sports uniform is not always synonymous with glamor, it is always a symbol of comfort. This fresh idea was referenced in the Sacai runway show for Spring 2014. The collection married elegant aesthetics with these comfy fabrics, creating pieces that would ultimately work in situations that called for both style and comfort.
