Touching Tsunami Tribute Games

The 9.03m Video Game Honors the Lives Lost in the 2011 Tsunami

Some video games like 9.03m have a level of depth and complexity that you don’t typically expect to come from a game.

9.03m is a video game that was developed by Scottish gaming studio Space Budgie that takes players on a journey to gather possessions lost in the Tohoku tsunami in 2011 and each object tells the story of someone who was lost in the natural disaster.

Since the disaster took the lives of nearly 20,000 people, Space Budgie’s game is a beautiful way to pay tribute to those whose lives were lost. Currently half of all sales go towards donations for Aid for Japan and after the company breaks even with the initial costs to make the game, all royalties will go towards charity.
