Joseph Morris, a former video production intern at Trend Hunter, is a creative spirit who loves the future direction of the current 3D printing craze. When he's not reproducing 3D objects, Morris takes part in video production and content marketing through joseph-morris.com. He also does a mean Krusty the Klown impersonation.
How do you define cool?
I define cool as being yourself and confident in who you are. It's the small things that make people unique and interesting.
What's your favorite trend and why?
My favorite trend is the 3D printing craze. I have a great example. As you can see, the printing genre has been completely reinvented with this new technology. What they do is they take lasers and scan through resin to create an amazing 3D shape. This is really great for designers and mechanics who are trying to present their ideas to a client. It breathes new life into an industry that has fallen with the economy as of late. You can print many different things with a 3D printer, which I find really interesting because you can show architecture. It's now in 3D, so people can really interact and look at its shape. This is really great for designers.
What's your favorite thing about working at Trend Hunter?
My favorite thing about working at Trend Hunter is definitely the people. I know everyone says that, but they totally make the difference between a great place to work and an excellent place to work.
How do you reset to be creative?
The ways I reset to be creative are going to gym, running, working out and lifting weights. It really takes a load off my mind while I listen to music and clear my head. Then I sit down and just go back to whatever I was doing.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is going to Australia on a whim. Just taking off halfway around the world and backpacking. It really proved my independence and my freedom and I really had a great time.
What inspires and excites you?
What inspires and excites me is nature. I get really inspired just going outside and going for walks, and seeing different trees and the different colors of the leaves. Nature is so beautiful and I enjoy just looking at the sky and seeing all the stars. It puts things into perspective. It's a great way to remain inspired.
What advice would you give to the business world?
My advice to the business world is to hop on the YouTube train. YouTube is the second most used search engine next to Google.
Is there anything that you'd like to add about Trend Hunter?
Trend Hunter is definitely an awesome place to work. If you're looking for somewhere you can have a good time and just be yourself, definitely come and check out Trend Hunter!
