Jaguar is developing a futuristic 3D head-up display, with both safety and entertainment capabilities. The 3D head-up display will be able to display relevant safety information, as well as lane departure, navigation, and as improve visibility. The display will also combine augmented reality, which will help drivers with depth perception.
The company indicates that with its new display technology, passengers could potentially be able to watch 3D video without requiring a physical screen.
Research from Cambridge University's Center for Advanced Photonics and Electronics, CAPE, is also informing some of the development. A number of different technologies from CAPE could be implemented to create a uniquely personal space inside the vehicle.
