The awareness surrounding health and fitness has resulted in an older population that is much more independent and active than ever before; the growth of senior education programs is a direct result of such progress. Instead of focusing solely on rest and relaxation, many boomers are opting to stay stimulated through a number of creative and academic avenues supplied by the public.
Some colleges are offering free tuition to senior students while retirement homes are expanding their pastime options in order to be more challenging and invigorating. Senior education programs focus heavily on technology. Not only does this help them relate better with younger generations, it also provides another avenue of learning on their own time. Retirement has never appeared so interesting.
