16 Mushroom-Inspired Lights

From Mushroom-Like Lighting to Simple Organic Lighting

There's nothing more natural than fungus-inspired organic lighting. Mushrooms have surprisingly been used as the main source of inspiration for many furniture designers who try to create something slightly different from what's on the market today.

Considering that mushrooms naturally have a canopy where lighting could sit, this overall shape works quite well for designers. The Mush Lamp by Claudia Garay for example takes all of its inspiration from this piece of fungus, and the resemblance is uncanny. She decided to go with a very minimalist design for this creation, using a wooden base and a darker canopy area, with the lights situated underneath. This would be ideal to use for a child's nightlight, and to educate them about the various forms of fungi.
