From Edible Headwear to Thriller-Inspired Fascinators

 - Dec 2, 2012
Known mostly to be worn by the English Royal Family, fascinators have been made famous by mega designers like Philip Treacy. A fascinator is a hat-like fashion which is attached to either a headband or a clip on the top of the head. Unlike a hat, it does not cover the entire head. A fascinator can be an amalgamation of feathers, lace and intricate design. It is seen as a work of art instead of a piece to warm your head.

Fascinators are a great way to accentuate an outfit. They are also used during large Royal affairs, like the Royal wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William. After this affair, the idea of fascinators populated modern culture and started appearing all over editorial spreads.
