Awhile back, Tina Fey said she will stop playing Sarah Palin on November 5th. True to her word, Fey told Entertainment Weekly that she is officially retiring her Salin Palin impersonations.
What a bummer! However, Tina Fey is a busy wife and mother, and also produces and stars in 30 Rock, so one can certainly understand why she is choosing to let Palin go.
Tina Fey as Sarah Palin also brought life to the long struggling 'Saturday Night Live,' as millions flocked to their TV's weekly so as not to miss Fey's Palin impersonations.
Who will take Fey’s place? We’re not sure, but Tina Fey has given her thumbs-up to Kristen Wiig to play Sarah Palin.
It's hard to imagine anyone else impersonating Sarah Palin, however, as Tina Fey not only strongly resembles Palin, but captured the essence of Palin's folksy accent and mannerisms to a tee. Thank goodness that if we ever get a hankering for watching Tina Fey impersonate Sarah Palin, we have the SNL video archives to squelch our appetite.
