Sebastien Sasseville was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, the most severe form of the disease. Regardless of the devastating news, Sasseville went on to reach the summit of Mount Everest. He reached his goal in 2008, and has since led groups of youth to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and to Mount Everest Base camp.
As a highly motivated individual, Sasseville shares the inspirations behind taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Everest. He argues that being first means very little as a source of motivation. Being self-driven and inspired by personal setback and challenges will allow you to reach higher levels of success than you had anticipated ever reaching. Setbacks can push goals to the next level, rather than hindering performance.
