This fiscal cliff keynote, delivered by Adam Davidson (journalist and co-host of 'Planet Monkey'), explores the lessons the current financial crisis in the United States has taught Americans. The majority of individuals assume that the fiscal crisis is a result of partisan politics, between the Republicans, the Democrats and the Indepedendents. Davidson, however, suggests that Americans are in fact moderate, pragmatic centrists where fiscal issues are concerned.
Many politicians are honing in on the diverging philosophies between the Democrats and the Republicans as the main reason for being in this situation, but Davidson believes people need to remove themselves from this partisan mentality. Solving this fiscal disaster cannot come from a partisan-based or partisan-inspired solution because the majority of America is not partisan.
