AI-Enabled Recycling Bins

SmartSort Bins Appropriately Dispose of Out-of-Home Waste

Recycling can be challenging in general due to confusion over what materials are accepted, and it becomes even more difficult while traveling, as local guidelines and systems often vary widely from place to place—but SmartSort helps to ensure recyclables end up in the right place. SmartSort's AI-enabled recycling bins use cameras to scan items and appropriately sort recycling from waste.

In partnership with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages installed four smart recycling bins powered by SmartSort Technologies for a more eco-friendly airport experience. While the dual-stream bins located in Terminals D and E have receptacles for waste and recycling, DFW Airport Headquarters and the Department of Public Safety received a triple-stream unit, which offers a compost bin in addition to waste and recycling.
