Rancho del Bosque is a private residence in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, designed by architecture studio Sordo Madaleno. The project is composed of six individual concrete pavilions arranged across a wooded hillside to follow the natural topography of the site. Each volume houses a specific function, including living areas, bedrooms, and communal spaces. Open circulation paths connect the pavilions and frame views toward the surrounding forest and lake landscape. The concrete structures are paired with generous glazing to balance enclosure with outdoor exposure.
The layout allows the home to operate as a series of independent yet connected spaces, supporting both privacy and shared use. Interior finishes are restrained and rely on the natural texture of concrete, stone, and wood. Roof overhangs and strategic pavilion placement provide solar control and passive shading. The design prioritizes landscape integration and spatial separation rather than a single consolidated building footprint.
