Front and EFG Join Forces to Design the Modular Ori Sofa System

Design and art studio Front work in collaboration with EFG, which is the European Furniture Group on the Ori modular sofa system. It boasts a minimal design language while celebrating the geometric art of Japanese origami. There are five modules that make up the series -- all of which can be used individually or configured together to cater to any room or space.

Similar to the way that origami folds, the visual look of Ori have a pleated design aesthetic that evokes a calm theme through perfectly symmetrical looks from any angle. To create the system, designers started by folding paper models and then grew from there. To add support, it adds a wooden base to enhance the overall profile and focus on the complex silhouette.
