Modular Liberating Sofas

Aire Modular Sofa Blends Lightness and Structure with Adriatic Rhythm

Aire Modular Sofa blends lightness and structure with Adriatic-inspired rhythm. Designed by Spanish duo Ramos+Bassols for Prostoria, Aire features a floating base that elevates each section slightly above the floor—creating a sense of visual weightlessness. The sofa’s footprint can stretch outward in long, linear forms or condense into compact arrangements, thanks to evenly spaced, modular components that balance rhythm and scale. “If we had to describe Aire in one word, it would be freedom—freedom to adapt, freedom to stretch out, freedom in composition,” say the designers.

Subtle gaps between elements reveal negative space, while the base allows for integrated add-ons like end tables and armrests. Its smooth upholstery and clean joinery maintain aesthetic flow across configurations. Inspired by Adriatic culture, the sofa expresses both casual living and compositional order. Every piece is crafted at Prostoria’s facility near Zagreb, Croatia, where in-house production ensures meticulous attention to materials and construction—blending tradition, adaptability, and timeless comfort into a modular centerpiece.
