Studio Omar Aqeel Designs the Only Love Strangers Lounge

Brooklyn-based design firm Studio Omar Studio designs a multiple-level cocktail lounge and restaurant dubbed Only Love Strangers. It is defined by the cobalt blue tiles complemented by chrome finishes. Visitors are met by a cozy ambiance where they can enjoy craft cocktails and listen to live jazz. The space measures an impressive 6.300 square feet with a menu that serves Mediterranean dishes throughout the ground-level bar, dining rooms, and lounge space.

Aqeel also references influences from the Roaring Twenties with a nod to the 50s and 60s in terms of interior architecture. Omar Aqeel, founder of the studio notes, "We focused on raw assemblies, anachronistic discourse, transmutative perceptions, and material juxtapositions." The electric blue palette is harmonious with the vintage custom furniture.
