A San Francisco barista has begun designing quirky alien latte art as a way of celebrating the new Minions movie. The movie is the prequel to the Despicable Me series and follows the lives of the film's adorable alien creatures.
The latte art was designed by Melannie Aquino, who grew bored with adding the same rosettas and hearts to her customer's drinks. To try something different, she began creating detailed coffee designs of the Minion characters. Each of the characters she creates are extremely expressive and seem to come to life inside the coffee cups. Aquino explains that in order to make the intricate designs, you need to have the perfect ratio of espresso and microfoam, with just the right amount of contrast.
