Sci-Fi Anime Collaborative Apparel

Ground Y Introduced a Collaboration with Ghost in the Shell

Ground Y is one of Yohji Yamamoto's Japan-exclusive labels and it offers more budget-friendly options and accessible styles that Yamamoto is recognized for. To initiate its Spring/Summer 2018 launch, Ground Y joined forces with Ghost in the Shell for a series of collaborative apparel. This is not the label's first time working with manga, as it has previously worked with the Evangelion anime.

This time, the design team of Ground Y was drawn towards the dark and dramatic tones of Ghost in the Shell. This concept is translated into simplistic design components, such as flowing pants constructed with velvet and asymmetrical tops. Other than the relaxed silhouettes and muted hues that Yohji Yamamoto is known for, there are some pieces that wear dramatic illustrations of Major Kusanagi, who is the protagonist of the anime, as well as the manga's city graphics. The collection will be available for view on storefronts in Japan on April 20th and hits online stores in July.
